My Dress Has Arrived at Shop-What’s My Next Step?

Yay, your dress has arrived! But what comes next? Remember, The Henry’s will store your dress here at our boutique until the wear date (i.e., wedding or prom date) at no additional charge. 

You should plan to come in and try your dress soon to get a feel for how it fits and to decide if you require any alterations to have the best fit for your special occasion. If you are a bride whose dress has come in, please set up a Try On Appointment here (please be aware this is NOT an alteration appointment.)

What to Do About Alterations

If you plan to use Lai’s Custom Tailoring for any alterations to your dress, you should contact her directly at (207) 990-5467 to schedule an appointment. Lai does all of her fittings here at our boutique but maintains her own schedule, so appointments are required. 

Suggested Alteration Timelines for Bridal Gowns, Bridesmaids Dresses, and Prom Dresses

A general guide for an alteration timeline is as follows:

• Bridal Gown: First fitting 8 weeks prior to your wedding
• Bridesmaid Dress: First fitting 4-6 weeks prior to the wedding
• Prom Dress: First fitting 4-6 weeks prior to the prom

Please keep in mind, orders received within these timeframes should be scheduled for a fitting ASAP unless other arrangements have been made.
